Blykalla has secured funding from the European Innovation Council’s Accelerator Program, standing out among 1,211 applicants as one of just 71 selected companies. This funding includes a €2.5 million grant and a €15 million equity investment from the EU.
Earlier this month, Blykalla broke ground on its Advanced Reactor Testing Site, an important step towards the industrialization and commercialization of its lead-cooled reactor technology. This facility marks a pivotal step in industrializing decades of research towards the goal of delivering clean, safe, and scalable baseload energy.
Blykalla is developing and building small modular reactors (SMRs) to deliver the next generation of clean energy. The innovative SEALER reactor utilizes liquid lead cooling and features unique safety elements and proprietary innovations. The company aims to provide necessary baseload energy to enable a complete transition to a fossil-free future and is actively collaborating with global partners to deliver Europe’s first advanced SMR.
