Job Description
We are seeking a Process System Engineer with a strong background in process engineering and fluid system design, coupled with expertise in advanced working fluids and system optimization. Experience in multiphase operations, heating/cooling processes, and hydraulic network design is highly desirable. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing process systems to meet stringent safety and performance standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for cutting-edge nuclear energy systems.
What you’ll get to do
Design and analyze fluid systems, including heat exchangers (HEX), pumps, hydraulic networks, and separation systems.
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and detailed system specifications.
Perform engineering calculations for multiphase operations, pressure drop, and thermal performance.
Define and implement control philosophies, collaborating with automation teams to ensure operability.
Evaluate advanced working fluids, focusing on safety and efficiency.
Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and design optimizations.
Provide technical input for equipment specifications and supplier selection.
Support commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design reviews and system manuals
Requirement
You will be part of a highly skilled team with a can-do attitude. We value personnel chemistry and strive to create a workplace where you enjoy coming to. There are however a few things that we think will help you to succeed in this role, these are:
A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in process engineering, including the design and optimization of HEX, pumps, and separation systems.
Knowledge of control philosophies and instrumentation for process systems.
Proficiency with process engineering tools such as ASPEN, Flownex, Flomaster, Thermoflow, or Apros.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to dynamic projects.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written (Swedish is a plus).
Meritorious skills:The following skills are not required but will be considered an advantage:
Experience with lead or other advanced coolants.
Familiarity with nuclear waste system design.
Programming skills in Python, C++, or MatLab.
Field experience in commissioning or startup of industrial plants.
